Testimonial
Thank you so much for such a wonderful workshop experience this weekend.
You are a wonderful teacher and make everything very understandable
(and fun!). It is so wonderful to have more of an understanding
about why certain practices are more calming/cooling or more energizing/heating
and the relationship to the chakras and Koshas - all terms that I
have heard before in various yoga classes, but have never really understood.
I am looking forward to re-reading my notes and your handouts and
integrating this knowledge.
I want you to know that I am surprised, very touched and honoured
that you would invite to join your program. I had actually looked
at your programs a few weeks ago when I first heard about the Sanctuary,
and was intrigued. I so enjoyed spending the weekend with you, Taro
(his smile just lights up the room) and those lovely, lovely women
who I really enjoyed connecting with during lunch the break.
I would like to stay connected with you and the sanctuary,
and plan to start coming to your Tuesday yoga class and will be interested
in participating in some of the future workshops. I also notice on
your website that you do Ayurveda and marmatherapy - which might be
something I would like to try.
Thank you for adding me to your email list - I received your email
about the Kirtan and hope that I can attend.
With love, respect and gratitude,
Michel
From Erica, a
Certified Yoga Instructor who took Yogatherapy at Pacific Rim College
I learned about Nikki’s Yogatherapy course 2 weeks before finishing
my 250-hour yoga teacher training this summer. It seemed like a logical
progression to take the Yogatherapy course, and the timing was perfect.
Our teacher training was done with a series of teachers; most of whom
I felt had only a surface knowledge of yoga theory, even those with
many years of experience and those who are wonderful, great teachers.
The benefit of having one teacher for the whole Yogatherapy course,
and a teacher who has such a wide depth and breadth of
knowledge as Nikki does, was that she was able to answer
all our questions in detail and share many stories of her experiences.
The individual teachers of our teacher training were able to take
us on the first one or two baby steps of a personal journey, but not
to take us any farther, simply because they did not yet have the skills.
Nikki, however, had the experience, the knowledge and
the skills to take us on many, many steps into deep areas of our individual
personal journeys. And she was there for us every step
of the journey, always willing to give her time, observation and skills
to help us when we felt lost or confused. She usually had the sign
post to get us back on track or to lead us to the next step.
Nikki’s dedication to bringing us a course that challenged us
and kept us engaged, and her ability to deliver the information in
a clear way that she took time to make sure everyone understood, gave
us an education with high standards. She also spends time with everyone
and makes you feel cared for and protected, like a true
spiritual mother. I feel so lucky that I get to spend a full two years
with Nikki, both to learn the knowledge she presents in the courses,
and simply to be in her presence and to resonate with her energy
