An eclectic mix of stimulating,
regenerative yoga for body and soul.
Breath, movement, contemplation, meditation, themes and seasonal journeys...
Explore the
essence of you, moment to moment.
Find nirvana, the bliss of being who you truly
are.
In the practice of Yanumoja
Yoga, we utilize the exploration of themes. Through reflection on
various concepts combined with breath, movement, visualization, sensory
focus, stillness, and meditation we explore the energy, shapes and
sensations that describe who we are moment to moment…
Classes are on-going, open to all levels of practice -- no experience
is necessary. If you have a mat, please bring it with you, along with
a water bottle.

Journey of Heart Consciousness ~
Jan-Feb: The
Embryonic Heart
Tibetan
medicine suggests that mind enters into the body-being in the location
where the physical heart begins to develop in the embryo -- a direct
linking of awareness and the heart. We will begin our Journey of
Heart Consciousness by exploring the basic developmental stages
in our early life that contribute to our fundamental ways of knowing
ourselves and being aware in our environment -- our basic rights
to be here, to need, to separate, to individuate, to be empowered,
and to love. Embodying, or healing these rights allows us to fully
enter the heart consciousness and beauty of being and growing here,
in life.
Mar-Apr: The Petals of the Heart Chakra
The Heart
Chakra is located in the vicinity of the phsycial heart, encompasses
the lungs, arms, hands and skin. On the subtle levels, it encompasses
our movements in life, our intentions, our capacity to feel, our
willingness to touch life. This wonderful time will be a meditation
on the many aspects of the heart chakra: air element (movements
of life, circulation); the metaphor of the breath; feeling and touching
(receptive and active energies of the heart); Anahata -- unstruck
sound (prayers of the heart); expansion and contraction in life
as the balance of immanence and transcendence; presence/ enlightenment.
May-Jun: Love
These
two months will be an active meditation on Love -- what is love,
what it means to love, the many forms of love. Such a joyous exploration
at the peak of spring and early summer!
Jul-Aug: The Meditative Heart
Nature
is so full around us at this time. We tend to spend time outdoors,
very present to our surroundings, activities, and friends. It is
the perfect time to harness this expansive energy to deepen and
cultivate our presence in heart consciousness through meditative
awareness.
Sep-Oct: How the Heart Negotiates Transition
As the
earth energies begin to shift toward harvest and letting-go, with
a more noticeable change of light, our consciousness also shifts
toward transition and a preparation for the wintering months ahead.
The petals of the heart flower continue to unfold, some withering
and ready to be released. Come learn how the heart negotiates transition,
change and letting go as an opportunity to open more deeply to its
own Nature.
Nov-Dec: Into the Heart of Positive Darkness
Embark
on the journey of the ecstatic heart as we enter the sacred time
of positive darkness, when Nature pulls her dark blanket over us,
calling us to the centre of feeling. With Rumi and other ecstatic
poets as our guide, we will re-enact the journey of descent into
the mystery of the heart, culminating in our Soltice candle ritual
and community celebration.
