This course is
a basic introduction to the theory and practice of Ayurveda with a
specialization in the therapeutics of Marma (acupoints in the Indian
tradition) healing.
The course combines
theory and practical skills, peer and case studies, along with documented
practice. It is offered over a length of time to encourage the deeper
integration of material and more thorough development of practical
skills. This experiential training is offered in a semi-private setting
(maximum of 6 students) to ensure personal attention to each student-practitioner.
The course is
open to all students of Ayurveda who are interested in attending any
of the lectures or workshops for personal or professional development.
As this course is progressive in nature, students must have familiarity
in the material from previous lectures in order to “drop-in”
on later lectures.
Student-practitioners
will, at times, be required to attend lectures offered as a part of
the Yanumoja Yoga Teacher Training (YYTT). Those lectures are noted
below in the Lecture Topics Schedule. There are a total of 84hrs in-class
(with the option for more hours for students who wish to participate
in Anatomy and Physiology YYTT lectures), and 90hrs hands-on practice
(documented, unsupervised).
